Welcome to Five Cents Friday where I share my 5 favorite posts of the week. I follow tons of blogs so I thought it would be good to share with you my favorite posts of the week. These posts help me keep my life organized, fun, interesting, and of course on budget. This week we are focusing on budgets, date nights, and your health. Check them out.
This is a post that EVERY high school student should read!!! I worked a Chic-Fil-A in high school and earned way more than the $200 budget Breanna was given to work with. I had no concept of a budget. If I had any type of money lessons in high school, I would be much more financially successful than I am today. This post is a good starting point for any high school or college student who wants to learn how to budget money. Learning the simple steps mentioned will open your eyes to what’s important and if taken seriously, set you up for a successful life.
I haven’t had cable in over 10 years!!! And let me tell you, I don’t miss is it one bit. There are so many other options than cable. This is the first item to cut on the list. Cable really is a waste of money. I know people who pay over $200 a month to watch less than 20 of their regular channels The list also includes budgeting your groceries which is one of the best ways to take control of your budget. Other items on her list includes taking surveys to earn extra money, comparing insurance rates and more.
Now this is post that I loved and need to pay attention to. Working out is not my favorite thing to do so this article is right on time. I’m not a mother but her tips are helpful none the less. From designating your workout space to picking out the proper work out gear are the tips you and I need to start or gain control of our physical health. She also advises we need to pick a set time to working out. I plan on implanting these steps ASAP!!
This date and the games makes me want to pack a back and jump the care now! Thankfully, my husband and I are cruising from a port 3 hours from Tampa so this is date I will definitely take with us. I love the Dating Divas because they encourage dating after you’re married. Too many couples stop dating once the ring is on and that is a big problem. The road trip date comes with fun filled games including a questionnaire to take with you on your next trip. Download your next date here.
I’m not the best decorator but I feel I’ve done a good job with my living room and dining room. However, when it comes to my master I have no idea what I’m doing. The inspiration I find does not match the budget I have. I was so glad I stumbled upon this post. “As the one room in the house that no one else sees, it’s the one room in the house that tends to be a disaster.” This statement is so true. I try and keep our master clean and tidy but I have no idea why it doesn’t remain as neat as it should since it’s just us. One of the things that stood out to me was adding fresh flowers to the room will go a long way. That’s something that I should know since I started adding fresh flowers to the living and dining room every week. Check out her tips on refreshing your room here. I’m sure you can carry these tips over into any room of the house.
And that’s my five cents.
